French product designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have collaborated with Samsung to create Serif, a TV designed to work with your decor.
Shaped like the letter “I” when written in the Serif font, the design allows you to not only place the TV anywhere in your home without needing a stand, but also lets you use the top of the TV as a display area.
The TV, which comes with a sleek white remote control, will be available in three sizes, 40-inch, 32-inch and 24-inch. The larger options come with stylish screw-in legs and will be available in both dark blue and white. The Serif Mini comes in red or white. The back features a magnetic fabric panel to hide hardware and wiring.
The TV’s interface was also designed by the brothers – including the “Curtain Mode” functionality, which allows the user to “pull a digital curtain” across the screen whenever something comes on that you’re not interested in watching.
Serif launches at London Design Week on 21 September 2015.
