Romaria Collaborates with Vanessa Ford on the Empowering Shero Cloak

Luxury knitwear label Romaria has collaborated with Vanessa Ford on the Shero Cloak – a bold new piece designed for women who move through the world with purpose.

Created in collaboration with Vanessa Ford – producer of Super Sema and Mandela: Long Walk to FreedomRomaria‘s luxuriously knitted piece embodies her mission: to encourage women and girls to be bold, fearless, and unstoppable.

It was a chance meeting that brought Vanessa and Romaria together. “It’s so wild how the universe brings people into your life exactly when you need them. I interviewed Carla on a panel about European and African collaborations, and we ended up being the product of it,” says Vanessa. “When we sat down and started dreaming together, it felt like we had already known each other forever. And then I met her co-founder Zydia from South Africa, and I knew it was meant to be. We are global women from Portugal, Jamaica, South Africa, speaking different languages and in different time zones, but all coming together to bring this vision to life,” she adds.

“This project is about honouring the power, the resilience, the beauty of women. When Carla and I first connected, it was like, yes – this is it. Two women coming together, pouring our souls into something that feels like a celebration of everything we are and everything we carry. The Shero Cloak isn’t just something you wear; it’s something you step into. It’s strength, it’s grace, it’s power,” says Vanessa.

The Shero Clock is Romaria’s first global collaboration. “The key to our approach is collaboration. Something Good Studio and Romaria Knitwear are both collaborative businesses, and all our designs, patterns and artworks are made with either artists or designers. Collaborations are so much fun, because you’re always learning from and challenging each other,“ Zydia explains.

“From the beginning, we knew the Shero Cloak had to feel timeless, empowering, and deeply rooted in craftsmanship,” says Carla.
