1. Simphiwe Mangole’s Illustrations

Joburg-based illustrator and designer Simphiwe Mangole uses bold and colourful imagery in his digital illustrations. His aim is to create thoughtful and innovative images and design solutions “to those seeking to achieve meaning from this complex world through design.”

2. Pete Cromer’s Druids

Artist and designer Pete Cromer’s series of small painted druid sculptures are made from concrete. Each little 9cm-high piece is signed at the base and features different patterns and colours.

3. Illustrations by Evelyn Kandin Geler

Illustrator Evelyn Kandin Geler uses her work to highlight issues around women’s rights and feminism. Many of her works break the boundaries of gender stereotypes and look to empower women and educate communities.

4. Waffle Wow Building Block Waffle Maker

Waffle Wow adds fun to breakfast time, with a waffle maker that creates small building brick-inspired waffles. From pyramids to houses, these interlocking, stackable pieces are bound to encourage hours of fun. You can find them on Kickstarter here.

5. New at MAXIM Lighting

Local lighting and decor shop Maxim has added two new minimalist lights to its offering: a metal pendant with rope detail in medium grey and a table lamp with rope detail in matte black, both sleek and sophisticated options for any space.
