WORDS Malibongwe Tyilo
Earlier this year Katherine-Mary Pichulik, the artist and designer behind the Pichulik accessories range, travelled to Italy for a two month artist residency at Villa Lena, a sprawling 19th century villa in the Tuscan countryside.
While there, she shared exclusive snaps from her trip with VISI and guest blogged for us for over a month.
However, that’s not all she brought us from Italy. Her stay at Villa Lena inspired her Spring/Summer 2016 range, a collection which she has aptly titled Lena.
“This collection is for the woman who has a sense of humour and a lust for travel,” explains Katherine-Mary. “She collects a trousseau of objects to mark her travels and memories and prizes experiences over appearances. The pieces are therefore effortless, unapologetic and designed to follow the wearer’s movements. They balance bold and soft to make a statement without being loud.”
