Two years ago we featured a colourful basketball court wedged in between two buildings in Paris’s Pigalle neighbourhood.
The same space has once again been reimagined, this time into an even brighter, more colourful court, in a collaboration between fashion brand Pigalle and Ill Studio, with support from Nike.
Purple, blue, yellow and pink shades can be seen throughout the space on Rue Duperré, colours that coincide with Pigalle’s ’90s-inspired basketball collection.
“Through this new court, we wish to explore the relationship between sport, art and culture and its emergence as a powerful socio-cultural indicator of a period in time,” explains both Ill Studio and Pigalle. “We aim to establish visual parallels between the past, present and future of modernism from the Avant Garde era of the beginning of the 20th century, to the Open Source times we live in today, and our interpretation of the future aesthetics of Basketball and sport in general.”
Can’t remember what the court looked like before? We featured it here. See more from Ill Studio at instagram.com/illstudio.
