The annual Open Design Cape Town Festival is running from 12 – 23 August 2015. The event will be featuring a series of talks focused on networking and idea sharing. Here is a breakdown of the 7 Talk100 sessions that will be taking place.
Talk100 Session 1: Urban Hacktivism
CEO of Cape Town Partnership, Bulelwa Makalima-Ngewana joins business analyst and CEO of NxtGen, Mapaseka Dipale, as well as urban designer Kirsten Wilkins to discuss hacking our urban environment to create a space of safety and fun.

Talk100 Session 3: Design, Kids and Education
This talk revolves around the inclusion of youth in design. Danish architect Julie Dufour discusses the design of the Ama’r Children’s Cultural House in Copenhagen. Rachel Botsis speaks about the Bellville Box, a innovative idea for teens interested in the design of public space. Eric Atmore shares the new developments and plans for the Cape Town Museum of Childhood, launching in 2016.

Talk100 Session 7: From Trends to Front End Innovation In Africa – Opportunity Spaces For The Future
Leading Front End Innovation (FEI) expert Klaus Schnurr shows how innovation experts can apply a trend and monetise it. Using global innovation case studies for companies such as Porsche, Siemens and British American Tobacco (BAT), he will illustrate how this is achievable.
