The Art of Exchange

NOSSO marks its second anniversary this November with two days of connection, craft and colour – and the start of an exciting new chapter with the launch of NOSSO EXCHANGE.

Known for its curated kaleidoscope of modern Brazilian decor pieces and its ongoing commitment to building a creative bridge between Brazil and South Africa, NOSSO takes that vision further with NOSSO EXCHANGE. This new initiative will host Brazilian artists and designers in Cape Town for immersive workshops and events, bringing the vibrancy of Brazilian craftsmanship directly to the local community.

To celebrate the launch and its second anniversary, NOSSO is welcoming two of its favourite Brazilian brands to Cape Town: Ceramiquinho and Voador Design.

Illustrator and ceramic artist Gui Lira, founder of Ceramiquinho, combines illustration, folklore and form to create expressive ceramics. Tina Saldanha and Patrick Gondim – the design duo behind Voador Design – are known for crafting sculptural furniture and lighting that blend organic forms with playful geometry. Together, they’ll join the NOSSO community for an in-store birthday celebration, followed by an intimate Clay Painting Workshop with Gui.

The anniversary afternoon will bring together friends, collaborators and design lovers to toast two years of NOSSO. Guests will be among the first to explore Voador Design’s latest collection and meet the makers, Tina and Patrick. The evening will also showcase Gui’s expressive, hand-painted ceramics – pieces that speak to a sense of play, imperfection and joy.

Gui will lead a Clay Painting Workshop the following day. It will be a slower, more tactile session that captures the essence of his practice. Participants will be guided through painting their own ceramic masks using the artist’s signature forms and techniques.

Nosso, Portuguese for ‘ours’, perfectly captures the vision behind the NOSSO brand. “It’s about the heritage, culture and passion woven into each piece we offer,” says owner Julia Franco. “These objects tell stories not only of their makers but of people and place.” | nosso.co.za
