Here’s what you can expect at this year’s NEXT22 Trade Exhibition – a showcase of more than 25 top designers at Decorex Cape Town.
NEXT22 will be revealing the latest furniture, lighting, textiles, fashion accessories and homeware ranges from a selection of top South African design talent.
The NEXT Trade Exhibition, now in its fifth year, is a showcase that forms part of an export development initiative of The Craft and Design Institute (CDI) – a non-profit company with over two decades of success in developing creative people, small businesses and the craft and design sector at large.

At this year’s Decorex Cape Town NEXT22 will display 28 export-ready local brands, clustered together in one curated hub presented by CDI and Decorex Africa. Brands being featured include A Love Supreme, Douglas & Company, Meyer von Wielligh and Willowlamp, amongst others. In addition to existing lines there will be a spread of new products by the likes of master weaver Angeline Masuku and social enterprise Woza Moya, which will be representing a group of KwaZulu-Natal-based artists.
For the second year in succession, the curated showcase will also gain increased longevity and a wider global reach through the use of a virtual experience. A virtual tour will be hosted online after Decorex Cape Town concludes, and will give wider access to buyers, members of the trade, and the public from across the globe.
Find the full NEXT22 catalogue online from 16 June 2022, and the virtual experience goes live in July via thecdi.org.za/next22
