WORDS Lindi Brownell Meiring
Nicole Levenberg of Johannesburg-based decor and homeware brand Aureum Design has collaborated with T&Co Fabrics on a brand-new collection.
The collaboration came about after Nicole returned from studying textile design at Central Saint Martins in London. While there she did a research project involving the tropical greenhouses at Kew Gardens, and it’s this research that led to her love of tropical and exotic foliage.
Tanglewood Forest and Jungle, two of the designs that form part of the Tanglewood collection, are directly inspired by Kew Gardens. Tanglewood Forest, which is available on velvet and cotton, features a collection of bold, densely packed tropical leaves in three colourways, while the plant-filled Jungle and Walking Trail designs, in 100% raw linen, are ideal for use in curtaining.

The collection also features Mossy Pond, inspired by Kew Gardens’ Waterlily House, and Forest Floor, inspired by a talk on moss as a design muse by trend forecaster Li Edelkoort.
The fabric collection is available at T&Co Fabrics, while the wallpaper can be purchased through Lemon. For more information, visit tandco.co.za.
