WORDS Michaela Stehr IMAGES Rolls-Royce
Rolls-Royce has created a custom Phantom limousine named Serenity, which is currently being showcased at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show (until 15 March 2015).
The car features silk interiors complete with a mother-of-pearl paint technique, inspired by Japanese royalty. The exterior of the Serenity model features a three-stage pearl-effect paint and received 12 hours of hand polishing to accentuate its shine.
The interior is also embellished with hand-painted flower blossoms, and the highest grade of silk from China was hand woven and embroidered to cover the seats. Smoked Cherrywood, mother-of-pearl and bamboo are all used as finishes and trimmings.
Whether you love it or hate it, it’s hard to deny that a lot of thought went into this crazy design.
