New Mungo Quill Blankets

Mungo has added the beautiful Quill blanket collection to their range of throws, blankets and bedding.

The design for the Quill Blanket is inspired by traditional weaving methods and the culture of the Nigerian Yoruba people.

Experimenting with patterns and colour, the Yoruba were not limited by the techniques available. Weaving on broad looms, women would produce pieces for domestic use while men created ceremonial wear on narrower looms. Some pieces were embellished after weaving with the addition of repetitive patterns by means of a dyed-dipped quill, which has led to Mungo’s Quill range.

Each piece is woven from 100% cotton and comes in a range of sizes and colourways, including atlantic blue, fossil and slate grey.
