New From Haldane Martin

South African design firm Haldane Martin Iconic Design has just released a series of new collections.

The four new and updated ranges are the Hula Chair collection, the Plat-O collection, the Sim-Ply Chair collection and the Neo-Spoke Lounge collection.

“Designing meaningful objects and spaces helps us understand ourselves and creates a sense of belonging to our time and place,” says Haldane on his website.

The colourful (and stackable) Hula Chair collection, which references both the 1950s Salterini Hoop Chairs and the Hula-Hoop, consists of a rust-proof stainless steel dining chair, lounge chair, bar stool and kitchen stool, all of which have been designed for indoor/outdoor use and are available in 12 colourways. The UV stable fabric used for the cushioning is also available in 12 matching colourways.

The Neo-Spoke Lounge collection, inspired by the iconic Windsor chair, includes a single-, double- and triple-seat sofa, as well as a corner table and coffee table. All wooden components are made from solid European Oak and finished in Rubio Monocoat oil in three different stains.

The Sim-Ply Chair collection (which originally launched in 2017) now includes a dining chair, lounge chair, kitchen stool and bar stool in a variety of upholstered seat and backrest options. The balanced design gets its name from the simple curve of the backrest and seat.

The Plat-O collection features a variety of tables ranging from two- to 12-seaters in shapes including round, oval, rectangular and square. These contemporary tables were designed to mirror the flat and expansive plateau of Cape Town’s Table Mountain.
