Creatives who go out on a limb to produce their designer products locally get the VISI thumbs-up. So when Lani Edwards launched her second range of Squaremoon bags in Cape Town this week, we were there.
Lani once again catered to a variety of needs with a collection that includes two new handbag designs, as well as a utility and smaller evening bag, all of which come in a variety of colours and fabrics. As before, local textiles were skillfully incorporated to give the bags the magic Mzanzi touch.
Right now, VISI’s favourite is the Voltin Roadworks bag in yellow and charcoal, which echoes street style and pays homage to the Mother City. It features alternating ripple structures constructed of foam to achieve a contrasting pattern and form. However, the Roadworks’ more glamorous cousin, Out to Lunch, is perfect if you’ve got a thing for bling.
