NEVER TOO SMALL: Milkman’s Cottage

WORDS Michaela Stehr IMAGES Adam Gibson VIDEO NEVER TOO SMALL on YouTube

A small, cold and dark heritage-listed cottage was given a new lease on life and transformed into a light, bright and airy abode.

To add the illusion of more space and to create extra light, generous windows with clever angles were added. The addition of perforated walls ensures the home never feels claustrophobic. Bright ceilings and walls are offset with concrete, timber battens and floorboards, to create a calm and organic mood in the space.

The courtyard is accessible through pivot doors, with wall-to-wall windows from the kitchen and dining area connecting the interior and exterior for a feeling of inside/outside living and again, the creation of more space for the eye.

This award winning property is a beautiful place to stay to enjoy all of Hobart’s local attractions or stay in and enjoy all the deluxe touches the house has to offer.
