This South African schoolteacher uses pencil shavings to create bright and unusual art.

Meghan Maconochie has become an Instagram sensation overnight thanks to her creative textured artworks. Each pencil is sharpened by hand to create the mounds of shavings for her layered pieces.

Her images consist mainly of pop culture references to complement the bright colours she uses, but we love her animal creations too.

Unfortunately, at the moment her pieces aren’t being preserved and are thrown away once photographed.
