Mantua’s Maska Collection

Stellenbosch-based brand Mantua Silkwear, headed up by textile and clothing designer Juandi Andrag, has launched a new collection of silk scarves, entitled MASKA.

Inspired by the ethereal luminosity of silk and the way it drapes over the body, Mantua focuses on making slow wear that is not only made to last, but have a minimal impact on the environment.

Mantua’s SPOT ON scarves feature bright, bold colours and striking patterns that highlight space and shape. They make use of animal prints, playing on the notion of the print being used to conceal or reveal one’s identity in a public space. They also give a throwback nod to ’80s fashion.

The locally made MASKA collection scarves, made from 100% mulberry silk satin, retail at R1 200 each.
