Old world charm meets contemporary Parisian grandeur in this elegant fourth-floor apartment that looks directly onto the Eiffel Tower.
Designed by Cape Town-based interior design studio ARRCC, this three-bedroom apartment is situated in the sleepy 16ᵗʰ arrondissement in Paris and gazes upon the North Bank of the Seine River. Briefed to balance a bespoke style and timeless French finesse, ARRCC delivered an eclectic space that appropriately matches the monumental view.
The conceptualisation of the space draws direct inspiration from the Parisian centrepiece and its renowned aesthetic. Creative refinements such as a diamond pattern repeating on stained glass windows and roof detailing are reminiscent of the angular geometric forms displayed by the Tower.
Towering ceilings and existing narrow passageways are enhanced to capture as many faces of the city as possible and welcome the cascading light of the day and glinting flickers of the city alive at night. Sharply contrasted, yet simple geometric forms make for an exciting aesthetic that is both clean and charming. Inhabitants can enjoy a toasty croissant where large windows look out onto an archetypal Parisian courtyard that complements the monochromatic kitchen with garden greens and sky blues.
