Cape Town-based artist Lucie de Moyencourt is hosting a new exhibition featuring 280 individual sketches.

Having started sketching 15 years ago while travelling through Spain, Lucie has become renowned for her whimsical ink drawings that capture candid moments.

For this exhibition, the focus is on Cape Town. This will be the first time that Lucie is exhibiting her personal sketches from her notebooks. The unframed A4 sketches, created using a combination of watercolours, koi markers and ink, will sell for R1 000 each.

After listening to an audiobook on the life of Picasso ( who could regularly pull out 200 drawings in two weeks) I am challenging myself to a month of intense summer sketching all over Cape Town culminating in a solo exhibition @chandlerhousect on the 2nd Feb! If you see me around Cape Town without my ink brush in my hand please shout at me and remind me of my looming deadline! I’m soooooo excited to start this full on drawing marathon! as of today! I’ve got the best excuse to hang out in all my favorite places!…… I’m actually working really hard Mmmmkay! Working on over 200 sketches of my favorite city in the world! 1st time the sketch books are being torn open ( yes it’s dramatic!) come and see my work on the walls of @chandlerhousect on the 2nd Feb! Yes catalog of all the works will be available the day before and shipping is possible! All sketches are A4, and cost R1000 unframed options for framing and shipping at additional cost! Best of all is that allllll the admin and sales is being handled by @chandlerhousect who are just waaaaay more capable than me in this department! The exhibition coincides with a play showing at the Fugard Theatre, called Happy New Year, for which Lucie has illustrated the projections for the set.
