Krystle Missildine’s Feather Animal Portraits

WORDS Michaela Stehr IMAGES

Alabama-based artist and animal lover Krystle Missildine paints lifelike animal portraits onto naturally moulted feathers.

As painting on a small and uneven canvas must be taxing, this delicate work takes time, precision and concentration. Krystle is a self-taught artist and began working on art full-time after the birth of her daughter in 2011. She specialises in drawing, painting and portraiture in charcoal, pastel and pencil crayons.

You can commission pictures of your beloved pets to be painted onto feathers or a canvas through her website.
