Hotel le Six, Paris

Earlier this year, Deputy Décor Editor Gera Smuts spent part of her stay in Paris at the Hotel Le Six. Located a few steps away from Saint Germain des Près and Montparnasse in the heart of the city, the hotel fuses quiet and elegance.

Designed by Philippe Maidenberg, the number 6 is a prominent feature of the hotel: six suites, six stories and a sixth arondissement postcode. On entering the lobby you find yourself immersed in a peaceful atmosphere, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets. The interior design, with multiple fireplaces, a striking chandelier and leather armchairs creates a place of contemporary calm where you can relax from the day’s adventures.

This sensuous atmosphere extends to the rooms above, where flannel fabrics from Designers Guild and Elitis are combined with wooden floors and warm colour palettes. All six suites have bathrooms illuminated by natural light, and those on the uppermost floor have views over the rooftops of Paris and the Sacré Coeur.
