The Guild Group is collaborating with curated design shop WallpaperSTORE* to launch a pop-up within GUILD this September.
Located within the new GUILD gallery space in the V&A Waterfront’s exciting Silo District in Cape Town, home to the new Zeitz MOCAA, this exclusive pop-up will showcase designs by the likes of Fornasetti, Tom Dixon, Vitra, Georg Jensen, HAY and Artek.
The international brands will sit alongside an exclusive African Capsule Collection (which will also be sold internationally on the WallpaperSTORE* online), made up of a selection of design items already found in store at GUILD, which we featured here. The range includes products by celebrated local designers and artists, including Andile Dyalvane, Lukhanyo Mdingi, Porky Hefer, Conrad Botes, Rich Mnisi, Dada Khanyisa and Clementina van der Walt.
“We want to shift the perception of African design to one of belonging”, says co-founder and CEO of The Guild Group, Trevyn McGowan. “Showcasing this WallpaperSTORE* selection, alongside our own offering at GUILD Store, continues our mission to place Africa and its creativity in the global frame.”
The WallpaperSTORE* pop-up will run from 15 September until early December 2017 at GUILD, located at 5B, Silo 5, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town.
