WORDS Lindi Brownell Meiring VIDEOS via Loving Vincent and BreakThru Poland on YouTube
In March 2016, we did a post about the world’s first fully painted feature-length film, Loving Vincent, created to tell the life story of Vincent van Gogh.
According to the Making Of video below (which is well worth a watch), the team, including creators Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, needed to find 80 professional oil painters to help them reimagine Vincent’s paintings and complete the project.
Six years in the making, the final film integrates 94 of Van Gogh’s paintings and over 65 000 frames of oil paintings, which if laid out at the size that they were painted, would cover the entire cities of London and Manhattan.
The final trailer for the film is here. Watch above.
