First Base Pizza Concept Store

Inhouse Brand Architects is behind the design of another exciting space in Cape Town.

Conceptualised by director Aidan Hart and senior designer Jenine Bruce, First Base is a new pizza concept store located at The Paddocks Shopping Centre in Milnerton.

The brief was to create a space that would appeal to a millennial’s need for honesty, openness and creativity, hence the open-plan design with views into the kitchen. The restaurant, which is focused on “fast casual dining”, features a desert-inspired colour palette, which can be seen throughout the design, from the seating fabric to the decor accessories.

The focal point of the space is the feature wall, made up of custom-made pentagonal tiles in hues of orange, blue, green, brown, grey and white.

The rest of the space features a range of simple, stylish additions, including communal oak tables, tan leather seating, timber vinyl flooring, and in the kitchen, black industrial shelving and a bright orange pizza oven, considered to be the heart of the restaurant.

While there are plans to open more First Base branches in the near future, you can visit the pilot store for now at 23, The Paddocks Shopping Centre, Grand National Blvd & Race Course Rd, Milnerton, Cape Town.
