Cape Town-based 3D animator-turned-sculptor Ferdi B Dick creates bronze sculptures inspired by cartoons and animation.
Connecting the realms of digital and tangible art forms, his designs start out as digital models before being cast in bronze.
Depicting exaggerated features and a sense of movement, many of Ferdi’s fun characters pay homage to contemporary popular culture and comics.
His latest work, which highlights the beauty of proteas, is part of Everard Read’s Winter group exhibition in Cape Town, running until 19 July 2019.
