Facebook’s MPK 20 HQ by Frank Gehry

Search for MPK 20 on Google and one of the first results that pops up is #mpk20 on Instagram. It’s allowed us to get a first look from within Facebook’s new Frank Gehry-designed 40 000 sqm headquarters in California. It’s the biggest open-plan office in the world.

On 30 March, Mark Zuckerberg announced on his Facebook page:

Thanks to those who’ve visited Facebook’s new headquarters, we’re able to get a sneak peek into this exciting space via Instagram. How cool is this office?

Yesterday we moved into the new Facebook Campus. Designed by Frank Gehry, it’s the biggest open space in the World and can fit 2,800 people. It also features a beautiful park on the roof. #MPK20

Yesterday, some other Instagrammers and I had the opportunity to visit @facebook HQ and take a first look at their new building: #MPK20. It’s a huge, open floor plan space designed by Frank Gehry. It looks like a fun place to work, and it opens today! Fun fact: FB worked with 15 artists on the new artwork in the building. Every piece was created onsite and is meant to speak abstractly to what FB does—many of the pieces are a nod to connections, community, networks and systems. Some of Frank Gehry’s signature metal panelling at the new @facebook HQ! However for this building he used his style in a much more linear and geometric way versus his other “folded paper” look. Mark Zuckerberg wanted something that still felt unfinished and a work in progress.
