This May, Design Joburg sees the Sandton Convention Centre transformed into Johannesburg’s most covetable premier design and decor event.
The new show combines the long-established Rooms on View exhibition with the bold new brand: Design Joburg. You can expect to see a showcasing of the best in both local and international design curated by a visionary team of creative directors.
Within the Collaborative Roomsets section of the show, in partnership with VISI, one of the feature stands will be curated by Johannesburg’s leading architect Joe van Rooyen of JVR Architects, who specialises in high-end residential architectural design. The stand, entitled The Sample Library, will be a collaborative effort with interior designer Julia Day of Generation.
The Sample Library will feature design inspired by age-old craftsmanship and an overall presentation that speaks as an ultimate space intended for the free-flow of thoughts. The space will see a combination of both local and global brands such as De Padova, Seletti, Lampe Gras, Rubio Monocoat, Make Furniture and Forest Flooring.
The timeless exhibit will showcase unrivalled artisanal skills that explore the physical relationship between raw material, crafter and end-user and act as a place where visitors can select material for their own renovations/projects.
The show will run from 12 to 14 May 2017. Tickets are priced between R80 and R110 and are available here.
