Be the first to experience new design concepts in food, movies and decor at the Freeworld Design for Food movie evenings in Cape Town during November.
These themed food-movie evenings are connected to a “Design for Food” interior design exhibition. The exhibition features the work of Maranda Engelbrecht of Babylonstoren in collaboration with fashion photographer Gerda Genis, Tina Bester of Queen of Tarts, Jacques Erasmus of Hemelhuijs and Luke Dale Roberts of Test Kitchen in collaboration with Casamento.
Choose one of the following evenings in November:
· Thursday 3 November 2011 – Launch event and lucky draw by ON TAP. “Chocolat” with Tina Bester of Queen of Tarts.
· Wednesday 9 November 2011 – “Like Water for Chocolate” with Neil Stemmet of Le Must, Upington and author of new cookbook and theatre production, “Sout en Peper”
· Thursday 10 November 2011 – “Babete’s Feast” with Clare Mack of Spill
· Wednesday 16 November 2011 – “The Freshman” with David Cope of FoodieZA
· Wednesday 23 November 2011 – “The Big Night” with Justine Drake, TV food personality, editor of Fresh Living magazine and food festival director
· Thursday 24 November 2011 – “I am Love” with Nikki Werner
· Wednesday 30 November 2011 – “Tampopo” with Abigail Donnelly of Taste and Eat Out
Seating for the food-movie nights is limited and tickets can be booked through www.webtickets.co.za. Tickets are R120 for the meal and the movie (excluding beverages), while tickets for the movie alone are R40.
The venue for these unique evenings, as well as the exhibition, is the Freeworld Design Centre, located at 71 Waterkant Street, Cape Town.
