Shopping for a bottle of something special has never been more luxurious than at Abu Dhabi’s Peninsula store; a stellar space that exudes sophistication and elegance.
In line with Abu Dhabi’s various restrictions on liquor trade, the design by Cape Town-based interior design studio ARRCC is inwardly orientated and has a fumed oak wall at the entrance that not only acts as a visual screen but also sets the tone for the luxurious interior that awaits inside. The interiors boast harmonious combinations of contrasting raw materials and colours, such as wooden panels, copper light fixtures, concrete and stone-like facades. The result is timeless and elegant.
A strategic placement of products puts the most popular selection at the back of the store, encouraging customers to spend more time in the space. The stock is only displayed around the perimeter to enable maximum use of open space for events and tastings. The industrial-chic design includes custom joinery that celebrates products on display, as well as allowing for sufficient storage space.
A concrete floor enhances the industrial feel while various patterns and textures on the timber panels and walls add dimension and richness. As no windows are allowed due to restrictions, custom in-shelf lighting is strategically positioned to enhance ambience, mood and warmth. A feature cluster of cylindrical tube copper lights hangs above the wine cellar to attract customers to the centrepiece of the store.
