Chinese treat

A treasure trove of Chinese gems has just opened in Cape Town. Joburg-based fans of the Orient will already be familiar with Norick Interiors and now it’s the Mother City’s turn to delight in classic Chinese imports.

Run by Patrick and Norma Cui, Kramerville’s Norick store has brought eight years of hand-picked classical furniture, antiques, art pieces and accessories to Joburg, and high demand now brings Norick to the centre of Cape Town.

Sourced from Patrick’s family business in China, new stock arrives every six to eight weeks, so the Bloem Street store should be paid a regular visit if you’re on the hunt for unique pieces.

From delicate ceramics to brawny chests of drawers, the store stocks items that one would usually only come across in China itself.

More stock is due to arrive at the store at the end of the month, but already the space is filled with a trove of jewels from the East.

Find Norick Interiors at 44A Bloem Street, Cape Town and 17 Kramer Road, Kramerville, Johannesburg.
