Renowned Thai architect Kulapat Yantrasast takes us through his contemporary concrete home in Venice Beach, Los Angeles.
His house is filled with a mix of modern statement pieces and kitsch-cool curiosities. “You should not live in a vacuum,” he explains in the clip. “I don’t know how we can get inspiration if we don’t open our eyes and surround ourselves with objects of curiosity, wonderful little moments of delight.”
The house was designed with flexibility and natural light top of mind. “The door can slide and all of a sudden you have an indoor room that looks like an outdoor room. It really makes the house into this very flexible, all-engaging kind of place that, you know, I think most architecture should be.”
Directed by Emile Rafael, this is a must-watch for architecture aficionados.
