Artful Apartment in Kayseri, Turkey

WORDS Amelia Brown

Modern finishes, rich visual design and clever use of space combine in this artful and art-filled apartment in Kayseri, Turkey, designed by interior architecture studio Gönye Proje Tasarım

The brief from the homeowner for the 200 mapartment was for a space that allowed for easy hosting and entertaining, so the entrance was kept relatively spacious with elegant marble-look ceramic tiles and a mirrored sideboard, and cloakrooms and cupboards cleverly designed to store shoes and jackets out of the way. The doors which lead from the entrance way to the kitchen and living room were custom-made to slide into the wall in order to avoid loss of space.

Wall covering and vinyls add texture throughout: With an abundance of natural light, darker coloured wall coverings could be used. Wooden flooring in the bedrooms was chosen to add warmth. Imported furniture was mixed with custom-made pieces and carefully chosen artwork, statement pendant lighting, and accessories, featuring bronze, glass and leather, offering visual layers.
