Missibaba’s latest collection

Edward Lear’s poem The Owl and Pussycat is the inspiration behind Missibaba’s Spring Summer 2011 collection. In our opinion, every one of the new leather items is the cat’s meow.

Designer Chloe Townsend’s poetic inspiration sees her new pieces on an island adventure with ‘Vicious Fishes’ layering, palm-frond zigzag stitching, peacock cut-outs, pirate gold and silver fittings and a touch of tropical bling in the form of gold and silver discs.

VISI’s favourite pieces are the Puffin Pouch handbag, which comes in a range of soft colours and can be transformed from a day to a night bag when the detachable strap is removed, and the Traveller bag, which can be worn in two styles and is large enough to lug around a laptop but still looks feminine with its pops of bright colour and a vintage feel.

The Buckaroo makes a comeback in bold block colours and the Cha-Ching family has been prepped up with owl, pussycat, fish scale and peacock motifs or colourful stripes.

We reckon that if the Owl and the Pussycat adventured into Missibaba’s Woodstock workshop, it’d be impossible for them to leave without at least one item from their namesake collection. That said, any fashionista with a love for leather would find the exercise close to impossible too.
