As great fans of Missibaba’s hot range of leather accessories, we’re pleased to hear that the design studio has now launched a range of covetable men’s footwear.
We love the fact that the shoes are reminiscent of times gone by, but that they also respond to the current folk trend that’s causing a stir on catwalks around the globe.
The two designs on offer, the Sandal and Espisand, were born from a collaboration between acclaimed fashion designer Stiaan Louw and Missibaba’s Chloe Townsend for Stiaan’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection.
The Sandal is an open-style shoe, while the Espisand is inspired by Spanish espadrilles with a closed back. The Sandal is available in either printed or plain South African leather and retails for R800 per pair, while the Espisand sells for R1500 per pair.
More good news is that the Missibaba team plans to introduce a fully closed Espisand and Brogue style in the future. We can’t wait!
