WORDS Debbie Loots
It’s no secret that we at VISI adore our canine friends, so imagine our excitement when we came across this geometric, multi-functional three-piece accessory collection, Heads or Tails, by Japanese design house Nendo!
Designed for the Japanese lifestyle magazine Pen, this cute puppy set serves the three basic pooch needs – sleep, eat and play – with three dual purpose designs. The artificial leather house, made from triangular panels and mesh, collapses into a cushioned bed, while the ceramic dishes can be turned upside down to either be a shallow or deep bowl. Also, when the pup has exhausted himself (and you) playing catch, reshape the silicone ball into a bone and voila! Another two minutes of dog-ertainment.
Think it’s all too cute? Well, although Nendo is a clever bunch that regularly comes up with cool designs, they’re not the only company to have put thought to canine home ideas. We recently featured another Japanese designer, Kenya Hara, who got together architects and designers to create Architecture For Dogs (read here). So if you’re a pooch-loving person, feast your eyes, just leave the drooling to the doggies!
