The fabric of life

The Ardmore Fabric Journal is an enchanting leather-bound tome that chronicles the interwoven stories of two African families – Fée Halsted (founder of Ardmore Ceramics) and her sister-in-law Marguerite Mavros Macdonald (founder of Mavromac Fabrics) – and their recent creative collaboration.

While the journal acts as a swatchbook, it’s also a family scrapbook, complete with illustrations and photographs, in which they pay tribute to ceramicist Wonderboy Nxumalo, whose heartbreaking and uplifting life story has been immortalised in the raw and evocative Wonderboy Wisdom fabric.
