Sneak Peek: Naledi King’s Colourful Space

Even if our homes and careers are constant works-in-progress, there is always that one place that keeps us reaching for even greater heights. This Johannesburg creative shares with us a space that inspires her.

Naledi King left Swaziland at 19 to attend Bible school, ran a hair-braiding company in Joburg (of which Marianne Fassler was a fan), embarked on a musical career in 2010, and then trained to become a life coach and cofounded a personal development company, Eneegma. The lounge of her Kensington home is centred around a Yamaha baby grand piano that was given to her by her husband instead of an engagement ring. “While I was not doing music, seeing the piano would be a reminder that my musical dream was still going to happen,” says Naledi. The wall behind is Daring Lime G1-A1-1 by Plascon.
