Decor bliss in Durban

Decorex Durban is running from Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 March and, as usual, it promises to showcase a wide assortment of inspirational decor ideas, style trends and original insider tips.

Besides the plethora of home improvement and decor related exhibitors, the Decorex SA team has lined up a host of industry experts to speak at the Samsung Inspire Theatre, as well as a range of activities, gourmet food-stalls and sights to keep visitors entertained.

BLISS Entrance Feature

Award-winning interior designer and regular VISI contributor, Tracy Lee Lynch will design and decorate the entrance to reflect the 2013 Decorex theme, “Bliss”. Tracy promisesa display that will set the tone for South Africa’s future as being fantastical and exciting, driven by design and all that can be imagined.

Plascon Spaces

Plascon will showcase their 2013 colour palette, “Balance”, in a room divided into four unique looks using four different applications of this year’s hippest colours.

Plascon Spaces Studio

The experienced Plascon team will be on-hand in their Decorex studio to answer any of your colour or paint queries.

Decorex Designer Spotlight

Lisa Walters, one of the biggest names on the Durban design scene, will decorate a sitting room showcasing her interpretation of the latest trends in textiles, furniture, colours and textures for 2013. The space will be a serene and calm setting, using a pastel palette of champagne pink and old gold, with hints of grape.

Distell Fine Brandy by Design Cellar

Enjoy fine brandy cocktails and food pairings in the Design Cellar space. Don’t you know? Brandy has a whole new groove.

Room to Grow with M-Net Cares

This exhibition features furniture by Mr Price Home displayed in room settings, where it is arranged according to the different stages of a child’s development. You can walk from baby’s nursery though to the teen’s escape zone. All the furniture on display will be donated to Makaphutu Children’s Home.

Volvo #MadeForYou Designer Pods

Four of Durban’s top designers will test drive four different Volvo models and then style a room to reflect their interpretations of each vehicle.

Samsung Inspire Theatre

The impressive theatre promises to put on an inspiring array of interactive talks, lifestyle demonstrations, cook-offs and how-to’s from Durban’s principal food, restaurant and entertainment connoisseurs. Something for everyone.
