Does the thought of redecorating your home, or even a room in your home, leave you with pangs of worry? Cape Town interior designer Michelle Trimborn is erasing these doubts with workshops that shed light on the secrets of successful decorating.
Offering essential skills and techniques to transform your home like a professional, Michelle’s month-long workshops give anybody the chance to learn more about the industry.
Held one morning a week for four weeks, the course allows participants to meet top suppliers, share ideas, learn how to confidently purchase fabrics, make colour selections and generally pull off an interior with panache and expertise.
Says Michelle, “The four workshop mornings cover the basic principles and elements of design, such as scale, proportion, lines, form and colour.” Practical aspects like theme establishment, fabric selection, lighting, flooring, window treatments and the important who-when-what process are also covered within the 2.5 hour sessions.
Michelle stresses that these workshops are not just for aspirant interior designers, but will also be useful for anyone looking to redecorate their home. Even if you plan on working with a professional, these tips will ensure you are informed with every decor decision made.
Registration for the August and September courses is now open. Please note that workshops take place on Tuesday or Wednesday mornings in selected Cape Town venues. Each course costs R1,600.
