BD Barcelona exhibit in Milan

At this year’s Salone del Milan, Spanish company Barcelona Design will be presenting beautiful pieces from present and past centuries.

The first is the relaunch of the ‘Mettsass’ table, conceived in 1972 by designer and architect Ettore Sottsass. The reproduction – with the same original dimensions and colours – is a tribute to this master figure who founded the mythical group, Memphis.

Their second product, ‘Chandlo’, meaning moon shape and Bindi is a dressing table designed by London-based design office Doshi Levien. Made by BD for Das Haus in 2012, the piece is composed of seemingly detached forms and planes to be viewed from all sides.

Established 40 years ago by a group of five architects, BD promotes the best of local design within the region and rest of the world. Today, the company’s in-house collection has consolidated into an enormously varied yet defining compendium of predominantly Spanish design classics, both historic and contemporary.
