Passage to India

The rich decorative style of the Catalan Modernista movement and the grandeur of Colonial India have inspired a flamboyant new collection of fabrics by Designers Guild.

The Amrapali range is all about layered pattern, vibrant colour (a whole 3,700 of them!), painterly flowers and organic geometrics that echo the exuberant architectural styles of India.

The range provides a choice of plains, fine stripes, checked and shaded wools, richly textured matt velvets, shimmering silks and satins, and an exquisite new collection of trimmings. The flower-themed wallcoverings are particularly strong, making it easy to update a room for spring.

Of course, we love the fact that intense sapphire blue is used generously throughout the range, echoing the blue moodboard that inspired our theme for VISI 56 (on sale now).

Visit a Home Fabrics showroom in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pretoria, Durban or Port Elizabeth to view the collection.
