Decorex Cape Town

From a modern take on Villa Trianon at Versailles to a colour-drenched studio space and eco-caring palm flooring – Decorex Cape Town once again lifted the lid on beautiful spaces and the practical know-how to recreate it at home.

Themed ‘Beauty and the Basics’, this year’s show expressed the Mother City’s creative energy with its design-led, back-to-basics approach, topped with good-humoured decor, a touch of fantasy and the revival of romance. Workshops, special trend reporting and concept stands added further diversity to the show.

Leading lights from the South African interior design scene were commissioned by Decorex SA to create inspiration settings for beautiful objects and highly desirable items worth having.

And with the hand-made revolution heading for the stratosphere, new show features celebrated the ‘proudly self-made’ phenomenon with free theatre demonstrations, expert advice on colour, and new techniques guiding a new generation of ‘make-it-myself’ enthusiasts.

Eating areas such as the Decadent Diner as well as the BOS Tea House, curated by Koncept Design, were designed exclusively for Decorex Cape Town. These areas certainly made you want to linger longer…
