A novel way of framing

Give your photos the treatment they deserve by framing them with Diasec – a unique procedure that’s now available in South Africa for the first time.

Diasec works by face mounting the image side of a photographic print to transparent Perspex. At the same time, the back of the print is mounted on aluminium by a process called “Dibond”. This results in a perfectly flat, high-gloss finish that doesn’t require a traditional frame – a hanging mechanism is simply attached directly to the aluminium backing.

When compared to photos framed behind standard glass, Diasec photographs appear to have more vibrant colour. Subtle details are also considerably enhanced due to the light penetration and refraction of the Perspex.

The images are bonded directly onto the Perspex, which means that there are no air bubbles or ripples. The Perspex also makes the prints resistant to UV damage and, as no heat is used, the quality of the prints isn’t compromised.

In South Africa, Diasec framing is done exclusively by Framed by Orms. Visit www.framedbyorms.co.za for more information.
