Stephen Weishaupt, founder of Canadian designer furniture and lifestyle company Avenue Road, takes viewers through his eco-friendly Art Deco home in Miami in the US.
“As you enter the space, it immediately puts you in a very relaxed mood,” says Stephen in the clip. “The design language, the light that hits the house, that fills the house, it sort of preserves its intimacy – even when you’re alone in the house, you never feel lost in the space.”
For Stephen, it was of utmost importance to make sure that the architectural shell of the home was restored first before the addition of contemporary pieces, of which he has an eclectic mix.
“It’s more an assembly of memories I believe, elements that I’ve collected over the times that remind of different travels, different experiences, different people in my life.”
