Luxurious Spaces: Polish Apartment

Design firm Fabryka Wnetrz brings Hampton-style glamour to Gdynia, Poland in an interior design project where a love of music, luxury and globe-trotting come together.

The owners of this grand apartment approached Lucyna Kolodziefska of Fabryka Wnetrz with a design brief that sought the harmonious combination of class, style and elegance. The resulting luxurious finishes are reminiscent of the Long Island summer holiday homes owned by politicians, famed actors and wealthy New Yorkers, while muted hues of ebony and ivory draw the Hampton style away from the beach and more toward the Baltic North.

The kitchen boasts counters made from custom-cut Italian marble, the same marble once used by Michaelangelo and Bernini for their famed sculptures. An accent wall in the kitchen showcases souvenirs collected from almost every country on the globe. A music room houses an impressive collection of CDs, vinyl records and high-end music equipment and is finished with soundproof, convex wallpaper to ensure late night revelling doesn’t wake the neighbours.

Breaking the monochromatic theme is a pop of rainforest seen in the bathroom that adjoins the sauna. Bright and busy nature-inspired wallpaper is complemented by a green faucet produced by a small manufacturer in Northern Italy that donates their proceeds to charities digging wells in Africa.
