5 Things To Look Forward To At The Cape Town Homemakers Expo

A taste of what’s in store at the Cape Town Homemakers Expo, happening this week from 31 August to 3 September 2017.

1. Love of CONCRETE Design Competition

Entries for this competition were open to designers, artists, architects and the general public. More than 40 designs will be on display and you will be able to bid on your favourites. All proceeds will go to the Domestic Animal Rescue Group (DARG).

2. The Market

The market will be made up of a selection of decadent gourmet treats, artisanal craft beer and gin and local wines. You can expect to find products by Darling Brew, the Bosman Family Vineyards, Blue Sky Organics and La Petite France, to name a few.

3. Live by DESIGN Area

This area will showcase varying decor trends from a selection of notable brands and interior design firms. On display will be luxurious fabrics, soft furnishings, wall coverings and modern interior products. Exhibitors include Pure Creation, Mono Online Shop and Pierre Michiel Interiors.

4. Take it OUTSIDE Area

This space is all about living the outdoor life of your dreams with outdoor furniture, patio entertaining products and gardening tools and trimmings that add to the art of alfresco living. You can look forward to displays by Daschner Designs, Living Green Walls and Yuppie Gift Baskets.

5. Artisan Square

The Artisan Square will include original craft and eclectic design in the form of handmade homeware, ceramics, leather items, art and custom jewellery. Products from the likes of Mia Mélange, mint, Petal Dunk and De Kleipot will be on display.

Our Editor-in-Chief Sumien Brink and Features Editor Amelia Brown form part of the judging panel at the Cape Homemakers Expo, and will help to select the winning stands at the event. The Cape Town Homemakers Expo is on at the CTICC (Cape Town International Convention Centre), 1 Lower Long Street, Cape Town. It starts on Thursday 31 August 2017 at 10am and ends on Sunday 3 September 2017 at 6pm. Ticket prices are R80 for general admission and R70 for pensioners.
