The NEXT18 Trade Exhibition, taking place at the Homecoming Centre, 15 A Buitenkant Street in Cape Town from 22 – 25 February, will showcase the work of 33 South African designers and manufacturers across various disciplines.
The exhibition, which will include products such as home textiles, furniture, fashion, lighting and decor, is aimed at connecting established local exporters and local design talent eager to make an impression on the global market.
All of the pieces on offer will be available at wholesale prices, as the exhibition aims to introduce the designers and manufacturers to international import buyers.
Designers include Nkuli Mlangeni (The Ninevites), Meyer von Wielligh, African Jacquard, Potters Workshop, Sugar & Vice, Mungo, minima, Skinny laMinx, Heartfelt, Barrydale Hand Weavers, De Steyl, Zizamele Ceramics, Design Afrika, Master Wire and Bead Craft, Vogel, Wren Design and Indigi.
NEXT18 forms part of the Development by Design project, an initiative headed up by SEDA (Small Enterprise Development Agency), the Dutch Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI) and the Craft and Design Institute (CDI), which facilitates the growth of small and medium businesses in South Africa.
