Surface Trends 2025: PG Bison’s Tactile Revolution in Design
Partner

The sensory connection between hand and eye is very much in for 2025, as surface design moves beyond the merely functional to become a true expression of emotion and personal identity.

Interior design is a balancing act between form and function, but its true magic lies in emotional resonance woven into the creation of any space. PG Bison created its new Gallery 5: Joy collection with precisely this in mind. “Aesthetically pleasing spaces are increasingly seen as a reflection of personal success, care for loved ones, and individual happiness,” says Jason Wells, Brand and Marketing Manager at PG Bison. The theme of ‘Joy’ captures this perfectly as it “encapsulates the emotional and aspirational value of home decor for 2025,” he adds.

With its considered blend of colours, textures, and finishes, the new collection is a synthesis of local desires and global design influence. We asked Jason to decode the surface trends shaping 2025.

1. Textured Solids Are the New Neutrals

Solid colours have evolved beyond flat matte and high-gloss binaries. There is a move towards a more nuanced approach to material storytelling by blending colour trends with natural texture.

Energy and vibrancy. Set fun free.
Solid colour frontals with a wood surface texture adds visual interest to large areas.

“Designers are now adding depth and interest to these spaces by incorporating textures and edge profiling,” notes Jason. “PG Bison has responded with the introduction of Acuity, a new surface finish that adds a subtle wood-like texture to solid colours, creating the impression of a painted wood finish.”

The soon-to-launch Monteo+ and Luxora lines further embrace this natural texture narrative. Monteo+ is characterised by its premium melamine-faced boards, including a refined woodgrain option that’s both stylish and tactile. Luxora is an exquisite range of premium, slimline worktops that will be available in six contemporary designs.

2. Tactile Lightscaping

Surface texture is no longer just a finish – it’s a tool for enhancing light in a space. PG Bison’s texture offerings – including SupaGloss, SupaMatt, MelaWood, and the newly introduced Acuity – are designed to bring visual dimension and versatility to any scheme. “This thoughtful range allows designers to layer finishes and textures to create visually harmonious and tactilely rich environments,” says Jason.

The best stories are found in beautiful spaces.
Gloss surfaces help bounce light and create a sense of space and openness.

SupaGloss bounces and energises, perfect for statement kitchens and bathrooms. SupaMatt diffuses and calms, while Acuity treads the line, introducing shadow play through its subtle grain. “Using SupaGloss on cabinetry fronts with SupaMatt or Acuity on wall panels or shelving can help create focal points while maintaining cohesion. It’s about layering finishes in a way that guides the eye while avoiding overwhelming the space,” Jason adds.

3. Inside Matters

What is on the inside counts in 2025 as cohesive spaces demand more than just pretty surfaces.

A chance to play with your creative spirit.
Alternate designs, like marbles, for uncommon applications  help to reflect a more a personal touch.

PG Bison’s focus on colour-matched carcasses – interior panels that match the exterior finish – delivers an unbroken, high-end aesthetic. “Coordinating carcasses with door and surface panels enhances the sense of quality and attention to detail. With finishes like SupaMatt, SupaGloss, and the new Acuity available in matching colour tones, the result is a polished, integrated look throughout cabinetry and furniture installations,” explains Jason.

4. Tone-on-Tone Is In

The Gallery 5 palette strikes a chromatic balance, offering both vibrant and natural tones in versatile finishes.

A sense of unbridled joy.
Two toning helps personalise your space and draw attention to features.

“By offering these colours in consistent finishes (SupaMatt, SupaGloss, MelaWood, and Acuity), PG Bison enables designers to build layered compositions that feel coherent, even when mixing bold and subtle shades. This compatibility between hues and finishes ensures that colour transitions feel natural and sophisticated,” Jason concludes.
