What can you hire for R100 000+ a week? Imagine yourself in this holiday home…
Whether in the summertime or during peak winter season, this luxury chalet has all the necessities to make for a five-star getaway. 1850 In The French Alps.
THE SPACE
This luxury chalet is built over five floors with the fifth floor having been sensibly retained for the communal areas – it has the best views. Think Heidi-style wooden, pitch-roofed hut but palatial: the first floor includes a heated pool, steam room and jacuzzi; the second a ski room and garage; third and fourth floors hold the bedrooms. There are six of these, all en-suite and all, bar one, with bath and shower. Throughout, pale wood has been tastefully paired with stone and marbled floors, and decor is generally muted. Until one gets to the bedrooms, which are rich, plush and inviting.
THE LOCATION
Courchevel is famous for its 400 kilometres of excellent piste. The shopping and cuisine is also world class and – needless to say – the views! In summer, they’re of green, wooded mountainsides, and in winter thick, snowy peaks, which is the main attraction. The altitude is about 1 250 metres; it’s a perfect ski-in, ski-out location close to the famous Hotel Bellecôte.
THE EXTRAS
There’s a chalet manager and two more staff who maintain the house daily. You can also hire a chef and get the linen changed daily (rather than twice weekly), organise for a helicopter or chauffeur and arrange a ski instructor. There’s Wi-Fi too, even in the Alps.
THE SIZE
536m2
THE COST
From €55 000 per week.
