A prestigious pop-up cognac house presented 1715 by Martell Cognac is now open on the ground floor of the Sandton Eye in Joburg. Guests can expect high-end cuisine, entertainment, and of course, the finest cognac.

This new concept bar and lounge features a wood and copper bar as the focal point of the space, with a backdrop of glass cylindrical tubes filled with flowing gold liquid that creates the illusion of moving cognac. The bar offers exclusive cognac tastings, as well as a range of Martell Cognac cocktails.

You can opt for a cognac and food pairing experience, which includes a crafted menu designed to bring out the flavours of the various cognac vintages. The dining area even boasts the Martell Cognac “Pluie”, an electronic piano activated by falling cognac “rain”.

1715 is open until 21 November 2015. The bar is open on Friday and Saturday nights from 9pm until 2am. Entry costs R100. Dining experiences take place on Wednesdays and Fridays from 12.30pm until 3:30pm – reservations are essential.
