1.618 finalists announced

Here they are…. The top 10 entrants in the 2011 PG Bison 1.618 student competition have been selected.

After a full day of short listing and defending their pick of the top entries, the 1.618 judges have announced their top ten. Because all the entries appear anonymously, the judges did not know who they had chosen as winners.

The names of each of the finalists and their lecturers have however been made available, and, in no particular order, they are:

– Marisa Rothman and Colleen Cocotos of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (Interior Design)

– Saskia Bouwer and Marga Nagel of BHC School of Design (Interior Design)

– Lorika Martins and Wan-Chen Tsai from the Potchefstroom Academy (Interior Design)

– Wynand Viljoen and Jako Olivier from the University of the Free State (Architecture)

– Jovan Geldenhuys and Andre van Graan of Cape Peninsula University of Technology (Architecture)

– Tarquin van der Westhuizen and Marga Nagel from BHC School of Design (Interior Design)

– Peter Lekganyane and René Kotze from Tshwane University of Technology (Interior Design)

– Micah Strydom and Peet Wolmarans from Tshwane University of Technology (Architecture)

– Menan du Plessis and Jako Olivier from the University of the Free State (Architecture)

– Videt Chengeta and Pieter Gruyvenstein from Tshwane University of Technology (Architecture).

Each of these finalists will discover their place in the rankings at the awards evening on 13 October.
